Tropical Twist + Charlie the Caterpillar = LOVE

As soon as I found out the first shipment of the Dancing Dog Dyeworks Socktastic Summer yarn club was going to be self striping I knew exactly what I would make with it- Charlie the Caterpillar! And, as soon as I saw the Tropical Twist coloway I knew it would be perfect!

Now, I've gotten a huge response about my cute little caterpillar on Ravlery, but I can't take credit for him. He is a pattern by Rebecca Danger that is exclusive to a yarn shop in her neck of the woods. Luckily, I was able to get my hands on a copy, as I have a slight obsession with Danger Crafts patterns.

I couldn't be happier with him, I'm I LOVE! So, without further adieu, here's Charlie!

Socktastic Summer - June

Summer is here, and like many other knitters, I welcome the thought of bright colors and lighter weight yarn! I normally love working with 100% worsted weight wool, but when the temps warm up I love to bust out the sock yarn.

So, imagine my delight when Dancing Dog Dyeworks announced that they were going to have a sock club over the summer from June through August! I couldn't resist and signed up right away, and then the waiting began. It didn't take long even though it felt like months, it was actually a weeks, and when it was posted that the June shipment was a sent Monday I started stalking my mailman waiting for my delivery!

When I went to my mailbox this morning there it was, waiting for me! I immediately tore it open to find the brightest and summer-y yarn I could have asked for! And the best part? It's self-striping! SQUEE! I have a major weakness for self striping yarn.

I'm pretty sure I know exactly what I'm going to make with it, and it's not socks. So, I will have to play with it and make sure it will work, and I will share my project as soon as it's finished!
