STOP Hammertime

There's a stop sign on a quiet road, and every time I stop there I can't help but to giggle!

So, on my way to do some shopping with the Mr. I had to hop out of the car to take a pic!

I can't but to think that it must be an adult that put the decal there. After all, what kid of today's generation would know a MC Hammer song from the early 90's? Either way, it makes my day every time I see it.

Chelsea the Chatterbox Monster

After long day of battling my computer, I was finally able to get Chelsea the Chatterbox Monster up on Ravelry yesterday evening!

I had the idea for Chelsea floating around in my head, but hadn't given it too much thought until I heard about the Knitabulls March Monster Madness KAL. I was asked if I would like to donate a pattern for the giveaway, and I was more than happy to do it, but the only monster I had out was Ruby, and she at the moment is a DDD club exclusive. So, I decided to spend an evening working on a new monster pattern. It went so well, that I worked late into the night and got the very first Chelsea all done!

I just loved her so much that I had to make a whole bunch more!

I decided to do a KAL in the Retro Lemon Studio group in March, with the chance to win great prizes! You can also join the Knitabulls group, and post your Chelsea there for the KAL Diane is having in March. I really had fun coming up with the pattern, and I can't wait to see all of the Chelseas during March Monster Madness!

P.S. My first Chelsea went to live with Diane aka Knitabulls and is very happy living there with the bulldogs!

Traveling Turtle Contest WINNERS!!!

All I can say is that all of the Turtles entered were amazing! It was so much fun to see how creative everyone got!

So last night I got together with my knitting ladies, who were very excited to help me out. I made score sheets, and entries were judged on a scale of 1-10 for story creativity, and again for photo creativity. All of the scores were then added up to reveal the winners!

1st Place! - Penny aka Sch4gators for the Wobet turtle!

2nd Place! - Sylv aka Bettyboo for the under the sea turtle!

3rd Place! - Debbie aka Crewmom85 for the hippie turtle!

Congratulations ladies!!!

Feeling the love from Knitabulls

I caught the new Knitabulls Podcast yesterday Episode 46, and was super surprised at the HUGE shout out Diane gave me! She is just too sweet, I just love watching her!

So, Diane aka Knitabulls on Ravelry is having a March Monster Madness KAL in her Ravelry group, and the pattern can be any monster pattern on the web. I am donating a pattern as a prize, and I have decided to make it a knitters choice! Several of the people in my group have made it over to the Knitabulls group, so I thought that way someone doesn't win a pattern they already have. Brooke aka Brookiesweetie will also be donating a pattern, Linsay aka LittleLippyEwe will be donating a DDD project bag, AND Michelle of Dancing Dog Dyeworks aka woolylove will be offering a special "Knitabulls Podcast" colorway to order! Diane will also have other wonderful prizes to give away.

I was thinking since the KAL is a Monster KAL, and the only monster pattern I have out is an exclusive to the DDD MM3 yarn club for now, that I would whip up an new one! Last night I was up really late knitting up a pattern I've had in mind, and I was almost done before I finally headed to bed. Michelle is kind enough to send me the "Knitabulls Podcast" yarn for my sample, and I can't wait for everyone to see it!

As soon as I get the yarn, and get my final sample knitted up, I will release it on Ravelry! I'm honored to be asked to be part of the KAL and the giveaway. I'm so excited, it's going to be fun! I'm just as big of a fan of Diane as she is of me!

Hey there Ruby!

I'm excited to finally be able to show off Ruby the Lovable Huggable Monster!

When I was asked by Dancing Dog Dyeworks to design a monster pattern, I was so nervous! I felt I really had to come up with something really unique and special. I had a few ideas floating around in my head, but decided I really needed to see the yarn before I could really make a decisions. The yarn arrived before Christmas and I was so excited! But, the most exciting part was that it was self-striping!

As exciting as the self-striping was, it also made my realize how important it was that the pattern worked with the stripes! So, it took some brainstorming and lots of drawings, but I finally came up with a design I loved as much as the yarn, which was appropriately named "Monster of Love".

Ruby was a labor of love, and really pushed me as a designer, and I really learned a lot during the process. For all of you who were not able to get in on the DDD Monster Mania 3 yarn club, Ruby will be available for purchase on Ravelry late this coming summer. No official date has been set yet.
