George has been a labor of love. I love squid so much, they're my favorite animal, but he has given me fits every chance he got. He's been in the works for months, and the legs were done over and over, and there were days I set him aside and felt defeated.
So, when he finally came together I was so excited! It was so hard to keep him under wraps!
I've been tring to bust some serious butt getting all of my samples done in time for the April 25th release date of my new pattern, and right now I need a break! The third sample is just about done, so after I post this, I'm going to spend the rest of the evening painting my nails, and watching mindless TV.
I love OPI nail polish, and today I got a few new bottles in the mail! I'm absolutely loving "Fly" from the Nicki Minaj collection. It just screams happy and summer to me!
So, I have a pattern that has had me stumped. Reeeeaaallly stumped! Sometimes in my efforts to simplify one of my designs, I end up making it a bit more complicated before the streamlined and final version is done. Well, on this pattern I have tried to think of every possible way to get all of the pieces to come together, but have not been satisfied. There are some ideas that I came up with, that even I thought would be a pain, and wouldn't fully enjoy knitting. If I don't love it, I'm not going to release it.
I was sitting here determined to finally get it right, and it came to me! It seems so obvious to me right now, and why I didn't think of it before, I'll never know. My fingers are crossed that it'll work, because if it does, I hope that it'll be the pattern released this month. Or next at the latest. It has been many months in the making, and if it doesn't work, it'll be back to the drawing board.
